Description
A row of six houses located on Beverley Road, dating to approximately 1845, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The houses are built of yellow brick with painted ashlar dressings and have a hipped slate roof with three coped ridge stacks. They feature a plinth, a first-floor sill band, wooden eaves with a modillion panelled frieze. The houses are three storeys high, with a 20-window front. Nos. 74-82 each have a three-window facade, while No. 84 has a five-window front. The windows are mostly plain sashes, with first-floor windows having eared and shouldered architraves. Above, there are 20 smaller sashes, although those in Nos 76 and 82 have been replaced with plastic-framed casements. The ground floor has two double porticos in the centre, each with an entablature and square Corinthian columns and pilasters, covering half-glazed doors with side and top lights. These porticos are flanked by single canted wooden bay windows with a moulded cornice, which project forward and are supported by enriched scroll brackets at the corners. To the left, No. 74 has a single portico, dating to around 1900, covering a single-panel glazed door, and a bay window similar to the others. No. 84, on the right, has a central portico with a half-glazed door and bay windows on either side.
