Description
This is a row of six houses at 3-9 Valentine Street, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with a black pantile roof. Each house is two storeys high and three bays wide, with the central bay and quoins projecting 4 ½ inches. The central bay of each house features a panelled door with a round-arched fanlight, embellished with moulded imposts and a keystone. The door is surrounded by plain details, with decorated consoles supporting a hood. Sash windows with glazing bars are found throughout, although No. 3 has 20th-century casements; all windows are set within rubbed brick flat arches. A simple brick cornice tops the houses.
