Description
Chester House and Magnolia House is a house, now divided into two, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It features a yellow brick facade with red brick at the rear and a slate roof, topped with three brick ridge chimneys. The building is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys. On the left side, which is Chester House, there are two first-floor windows. A panelled door, which is partly glazed, is accessed by two steps and is set in plain reveals flanked by pilasters, with a fluted frieze and a small dentilled hood above. The ground floor has tripartite windows on the left and single-light windows on the right, all featuring large-paned sashes beneath flat gauged brick arches. A modillion cornice runs along the top. The right wing, known as Magnolia House, has its entrance on the left side and a gable front with end pilasters, which includes two first-floor windows and a modillion cornice. There is a blind oculus in the pediment. A 20th-century red brick garage is located to the right of the house.
