Description
The Crofters Hotel is a house dating from around 1840. It features a rendered and painted brick facade that is positioned at right angles to the street, with yellow brick on the street-facing side. The building has a three-span slate roof and scattered brick chimneys. It stands two storeys tall and has three first-floor windows on the main facade, with bays defined by pilasters. There is a step up to the double half-glazed doors in the center, which are flanked by Doric half-columns, side windows, and pilasters. The slightly projecting center bay includes a rendered string course, panelled pilasters, and French windows leading to an iron balcony on the first floor. Most of the other windows are sashes with glazing bars, and there are open pediments above three gables.
