Description
Bircham House is a house dating from around 1840, now used as a college. It is built of yellow brick with rendered details and features a gable fronted slate roof. The building has two storeys and includes three first-floor windows. The bays are defined by pilasters, with the centre of the gabled wing having double pilasters. The entrance is located on the left side, accessed through a plain rendered porch that is positioned in the centre of a three-window range. The facade facing Earlham Road has a canted ground-floor bay on the left, topped with a wooden cornice. All windows are sash style with glazing bars and are set under flat gauged brick arches. There are two rendered balconies on the first floor supported by decorative brackets. Above the rendered cornice, there is a pediment featuring a tripartite attic window. The right bay has a parapet, as does the left side elevation.
