Description
The Tuns Public House is a building that originated as a house in the 17th century, with an early 19th-century facade. It features painted flint rubble with brick dressings and repairs, and has a plain tile roof supported by three rebuilt brick chimneys. The structure is L-shaped, with two storeys and an attic, and includes three first-floor windows.
To the right, there is a panelled door that has a simple doorcase with a small hood. Most of the windows are large-paned sashes, with one set in a flush-fronted wooden frame. There are traces of jambs indicating earlier, wider windows. The left side has a blind gable, while the right side features a casement window in a gabled dormer.
A later brick extension on the left includes a canted first-floor bay window. At the rear, there are two gabled dormers with wooden framed casements. The rear gable facing Grapes Hill has brick kneelers and a wooden mullioned window beneath a moulded brick pediment.
