Description
This is an 18th-century building with 19th-century extensions, located on the south side of Upper St Giles Street. It has been used as a house and is now offices and flats, with an office extension to number 92. The building is constructed of red brick with slate and plain-tile roofs.
Number 94 is three storeys high and five bays wide. It features a central doorway with Ionic half-columns and pilasters, topped by a pediment, approached by four steps. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, each with a rubbed brick flat arch above. The first-floor windows have recessed aprons. A heavy stringcourse runs between the ground and first floors, above which is a parapet and a cornice decorated with modillions.
Number 92 is two storeys high and three bays wide. The ground-floor central window has a semi-circular arch above the lower sash, and the upper sash has curvilinear glazing bars. The outer ground-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars and side lights. The first-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches. A paired modillion cornice runs along the top of the building, and the roof is hipped.
