Description

76 and 76A, Upper St Giles Street, are a building of uncertain former use, now occupied as a shop. The structure dates to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and arranged with three bays. A prominent 19th-century shopfront features a central recessed door topped with a pediment and a frieze decorated with triglyphs and paterae. A second entrance door is located to the left, featuring a simpler surround and pediment supported by consoles. The first-floor windows are sash windows with plain surrounds. A box cornice runs along the roofline. A dormer window, characterised by connected gables, is visible, along with two three-light casement windows.
