Description

Nos. 2 and 3 Cow Hill are former houses, now converted into flats and Christadelphian meeting rooms, dating to the late 17th century. The buildings are rendered with quoins and have pantile roofs. They consist of three storeys plus a half-basement on the right-hand side, and feature nine windows on the second floor. The right-hand door has fluted pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a pediment, approached by five steps. The left-hand door has fluted rounded pilasters, a simple architrave with corner roundels, and a pediment. A yard entry is located at the extreme left. Sash windows with glazing bars are found on the ground and first floors of the right-hand three bays, and have raised and haunched surrounds with keystones. A panelled band is situated between the ground and first floors, adorned with lion masks. A moulded cornice sits between the first and second floors, above which are casement windows. Six gablets with bargeboards are present along the roofline. Inside No. 3, a fine well-stair and a first-floor fireplace surround remain.
