Description

Grove Farm consists of two cottages built around 1830. The walls are made of flint with gault brick dressings, and the roof is covered with smut pantiles. Each cottage has two bays and two storeys. On the ground floor, there is one casement window at No. 2, featuring a cast iron frame and glazing bars set under a rubbed brick arch with quoined surrounds. The first floor has one two-light casement window with cast iron glazing bars and similar brick surrounds, along with another two-light casement window under wooden lintels at the end bays. The cottages have boarded doors, end quoins, and a quoined division at the door bay. There is a plat-band string course at the first floor and a central date stone. The eaves feature brick dentils, and the roof is hipped with a central brick stack. The architectural details suggest that these cottages are designed in the style of the Holkham Estate.
