Description
Church Farmhouse is a house built between 1801 and 1803, designed by architect Samuel Wyatt. The walls are made of gault brick with stone dressings, and the roof is covered with slates. The building has two storeys and three bays and was formerly the rectory for St Mary Magdalene. It features a brick plinth and a stone string course at the first floor, along with moulded brick eaves and a cornice.
On the ground floor, there are tripartite windows that are recessed under segmental rubbed brick arches, with sash windows that include glazing bars. The first floor also has sash windows with glazing bars, positioned under flat brick arches. A stone porch in the Tuscan Doric order has pilaster responds, an entablature, and a pediment, with a glazed door. The roof is low pitched and hipped, featuring two gault stacks that are moulded at the cornice and rise from a rear outhouse.
