Description
Canal Cottage is an early 19th century brick cottage, situated on Grove Mill Lane. It is a one-storey building in an "L" shape, with hipped slate roofs. The front of the cottage, facing the road, has two windows and a central door. There are also two windows facing the canal. The windows are round-headed, and contain glazing bar sashes. The door is recessed with a round arch, and a blank triangular space above it. A late 19th century single-window extension, with a gabled end and a projecting three-sided window with a lean-to roof, has been added to the side. A brick ridge stack is located on the canal side of the building.
