Description
Cassiobury Court is a former stable building dating from around 1805 to 1815, which is now significantly altered but remains the last remnant of the original house associated with Cassiobury Park. The building is constructed of red brick and features a two-storey castellated range, flanked by three-storey blocks that have flat parapets. The central section has seven windows, while each end has one window. Modern concrete lintels have been added to the central windows, although gauged brick heads remain at the ends. The original hood moulds, battlements, and string course have been lost. To the north, there is a lower range that is also battlemented and has six modern windows. An original four-centred arched doorway is still intact, along with some 'arrow-slits'. The building has a canted corner with another four-centred arched doorway, leading to a large battlemented carriage entry that features brick buttresses and a chamfered four-centred archway. The interior of the court has been completely rebuilt.
