Description

Garden Cottage is an early 19th century former lodge situated on Hempstead Road. Originally part of Cassiobury House, it is constructed with half-timbering. The two-story building has a hipped valley roof covered in plain tiles, with a central brick chimney located in the valley. The south front features a two-window arrangement, and the first floor has small, projected oriels supported by brackets, featuring leaded casements and tiled roofs. A canted bay window is present on the ground floor to one side, along with a plank door. The road-facing side has a three-light projecting ground floor bay window and a matching oriel above, with leaded casements and tiled roofs. Leaded casements are consistent throughout the building. A brick lean-to addition extends from the north side.
