Description

Cassio Bridge Lodge is an early 19th century timber-framed lodge built as part of Cassiobury Park. It has a plain tile roof topped by a central brick and stone chimney with a cluster of four stacks. The lodge is two storeys high, with a gable-ended design incorporating a gabled side wing to the left and a two-storey porch to the right. The exterior is entirely clad in small split logs, arranged in patterns of squares and lozenges and applied in short vertical lengths, with matching detailing to the bargeboards. It has leaded light casement windows. A three-sided window bay with a tiled roof projects from the front, facing the road, on the ground floor. Originally designed to accommodate two families, the lodge is depicted in Britton's Account of Cassiobury in 1837.
