Description
Cassio Bridge Lock House is a lock cottage located on the Grand Union Canal at Lock No. 78, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a shallow hipped slate roof. It is a single-storey structure with a symmetrical facade, consisting of one central canted bay flanked by three sections. There are steps leading up to the central entrance, which is set in a reveal with a cambered head. On either side of the entrance, there are two-light casement windows with timber glazing bars. The house has a plinth and overhanging eaves, with cross axial ridge stacks on either side of the central bay. The return and rear elevations are two storeys high, with a two-light casement window on the left return and an entrance along with one window on the right return. The interior has not been inspected.
