14/200 Wall enclosing Italian Garden to SE and NE of Moor Park

GV II

Garden wall enclosing Italian garden at Moor Park (q.v.) laid out c.1830. Ashlar. Low wall less than 1m in height runs from S return angle at front of house in sections articulated by short piers turning through 3 right angles to an end N of house. On central axis of house there is a step out with a segmental curve around fountain (q.v.). Moulded plinth and slightly cambered head to wall. Piers have moulded caps, 2 with recessed moulded panels.
