Description
This is a section of garden wall located to the front and north of Tower House, built around 1835-1840, likely by the architect Thomson, as part of the boundary walls of Tower House. The wall is made of coursed squared rubble topped with ashlar capping. It has a serpentine shape, measuring about 50 yards long and varying in height from approximately 12 feet to 4 feet. At the northern end, there are a pair of square, capped ashlar gatepiers. For about 10 yards, the wall features an ashlar parapet with a moulded cornice and two square end piers, creating a segment in front of the house.
