Description

This is a milepost located approximately 70 metres east-north-east of the Three Horseshoes public house, dating from around 1820. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular plan that is open at the back. The top is also triangular with a chamfered face below. It is inscribed with "HATFIELD 2" on the top, and on the right side, it reads "ST ALBANS 3" and "READING 48".
