Description

This milepost, located outside number 11 on Hatfield Road, dates from around 1820. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular shape, open at the back, with a triangular top. The face below is chamfered. The top is inscribed with "HATFIELD 5," while the right side indicates "WATFORD 8" and "READING 45." The inscription on the left side is illegible.
