Description

This is a group of four cottages, dating to around 1700, located on the north side of Sopwell Lane. They are arranged as two pairs, each with two storeys. The cottages have moderately pitched tiled roofs. Numbers 83 and 85 are constructed of red brick with three windows each. Numbers 87 and 89 are weatherboarded, each with two windows. A brick dentil cornice is present on numbers 83 and 85. The windows are casements with glazing bars within flush, boxed frames. They have renewed, shallow segmental brick arches over the ground floor windows of numbers 83 and 85. The doors have been replaced and fitted with bracketed hoods. Numbers 81 to 89 (odd) are designated as a group.
