Description

This is a row of four cottages located on the south side of Holt Road, Langham. They were likely built in the 18th or early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of flint with brick dressings, featuring red tile roofing. Each cottage has four one-light and two two-light casement windows on the ground floor, with glazing bars. The first floor features two two-light casements with small panes, set beneath lintels at eaves level. Number 28 has a 19th-century four-panel door, while the remaining cottages have 20th-century doors. Brick quoins mark the corners of the cottages and also define the party walls between numbers 22 and 24. A brick dentil cornice runs along the top of the building. There is one end stack, and additional stacks on the party walls of numbers 22 and 24. An outshut, a two-story extension, is located at the rear of numbers 28 and 26. The cottages are included in the register for their group value.
