Description
The Church of St Mary and St Andrew is a Grade I listed parish church located on Holt Road in Langham. It features a prominent west tower, a north porch, a nave with a clerestory, a south aisle with a south vestry, and a chancel. The west tower has a flush work panelled base-course, sound holes, and a stair turret that rises above a battlemented parapet. The church includes a 14th-century south arcade and a 15th-century tall tower arch and chancel arch. Inside, there is a 13th-century Purbeck marble font with smaller arcades to the bowl, and an octagonal east window designed by the King of Norwich in 1856, which showcases a retardataire design and colouring. A north window was created by Sir Edward Burne-Jones and executed by Morris & Co in 1894. The west tower window was designed by Charles Kempe in 1911. Additionally, there is a wall tablet from 1848 dedicated to Captain Marryat, R.N.
