Description

A group of cottages dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, situated on Thorncote Road. The cottages are timber framed with colourwashed roughcast externally, with the gable end of number 4 faced in red brick. Numbers 8 and 6 have thatched roofs, while number 4 has a clay tile roof. The layout is L-shaped, with numbers 8 and 6 forming the original block, and number 4 being a later addition. Numbers 8 and 6 are one storey high with attics, while number 4 is two storeys high. The windows are mostly 20th-century casements. Two dormer windows are located on the south elevation of numbers 8 and 6. The cottages also incorporate 20th-century part-glazed doors. Two red brick ridge stacks are present on numbers 8 and 6, and a red brick integral stack is on the south gable end of number 4.
