Description
Northill Grange is a house with origins in the 17th century, which was reworked in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. The building features a double pile plan with a two-span roof and stands two storeys high with attics. The front elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a brick band at the first floor level and a moulded wood cornice.
On the ground floor, there are four sash windows with moulded surrounds and glazing bars, all set beneath gauged brick flat arches. The first floor has five sash windows, also with moulded surrounds and glazing bars. The first window is under a gauged brick flat arch, while the third and fifth windows are under 19th-century cambered heads, and the second and fourth are 20th-century insertions. The attic features three box dormers with two-light casements that include glazing bars.
The central front door has a moulded surround and is topped by a large segmental hood supported by foliated scroll brackets. The door itself is a four-panel design with a rectangular fanlight above. There are integral red brick stacks at both gable ends. Inside, the house boasts a late 17th-century staircase with a moulded handrail and twisted balusters, and the entrance hall retains moulded pine panelling.
