Description
No. 4 Ickwell Road is a house dating from the 19th century, possibly built around an earlier structure. It features colourwashed roughcast render, likely over a light timber frame, and has a thatched roof. The house has a two-room plan, is one storey high with attics, and has rounded ends to the west and east. On the south elevation, there are two windows on the ground floor and one dormer above, all of which are round-headed casements with pointed arched lights. The left-hand window and the attic window still have their leading. The entrance is off-centre and is now sheltered by a 20th-century glazed porch and a trellis work verandah. There is an external brick stack on the left-hand side and a ridge stack on the right-hand side, both of which have been rebuilt. To the north, there are 20th-century additions, one of which is two storeys high while the other is single-storeyed.
