Description
No. 79 Upton End Road is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations in the 19th century. It is a substantial timber-framed structure, with the front elevation covered in 19th-century brick. The rear elevation reveals exposed timber framing with colourwashed plaster infill, and it features a thatched roof. The house has a three-room plan and is two storeys high.
On the south elevation, there are 20th-century casement windows with two and three lights, two on each floor. A part-glazed door is located under a hipped thatched open porch. In line with this entrance is a red brick double ridge stack. The right-hand gable end has been recased in yellow brick and includes an integral chimney stack. Additionally, 20th-century extensions extend northwards from both gable ends. The north elevation features diamond leaded casements.
