Description

This is a row of four cottages, numbered 53 to 57, Church Street. They date from the 18th century, and number 57 now incorporates the building at number 59. The front of the cottages is made of chequered red and grey brickwork, hiding a timber-frame structure visible on the interior. The roof is old tile, with a decorative corbelled brick cornice. The cottages are two storeys high, with a first-floor band feature on the building at number 57. There are four windows on the first floor, each with a three-light lattice design and a cambered relieving arch, except for two first-floor windows of number 57. Numbers 53 to 57 are designated as a group.
