Description

44 Church Street is a 17th-century building with an exposed timber framework visible in the carriageway. The front, dating from the 19th century, features terracotta decoration in a mixed Romanesque Byzantine style. The building has two storeys and includes an 18th-century reeded door surround. At the back, there is a 19th-century wing constructed of flint rubble with red brick dressings and flush pilasters. This wing also has two storeys and three windows, topped with an old tiled roof that has a corbelled brick cornice.
