Description

This is an 18th-century house, built in 1767 at the expense of the patron, John, 4th Duke of Bedford. It is constructed of red brick with a hipped tiled roof, a corbelled cornice, and a central pediment. The house has two storeys and features rusticated flush angle pilasters. There are three sash windows on each floor; the first floor windows have flat arches, while the ground floor windows are set within semi-circular arched panels. A band runs along the first-floor level. A central Doric porch is present, incorporating a triglyph frieze and a modillion cornice to the entablature. The Vicarage, Vicarage Annexe, and the gates and gate piers to both the Vicarage and Lowndes Park form a group of buildings with group value.
