Description
This is a 17th-century barn located about 30 meters east of Shenley Hill Farm House. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has a tiled roof. The barn consists of three bays, with a central gabled threshing bay facing the yard. There is a catslide roof over the extensions to the yard, and fixed windows are present in the gable ends. Inside, the barn has queen struts and clasp purlins, with collars inserted at the gable ends. There are straight braces connecting lightly jowled posts to straight tie-beams, and edge-halved scarf joints in the wall plates, along with some wind bracing.
