Description
This is a cow byre and barn range dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a brick base, with a brick wall at the rear and is weatherboarded. The building has a tiled roof and consists of eight bays. There are doors leading to the yard and small openings throughout, as well as a gabled loft door at the rear. Inside, the structure retains its mangers, and there are three early trusses with queen struts that connect to the collars clasping the purlins. The posts are jowled and have braces supporting slightly cambered tie beams. Additionally, later trusses have been inserted, featuring angled struts to the purlins.
