Description
The George and Dragon Public House is a public house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the early to mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with a plastered front and brick gable ends, each having 17th-century stacks; the southern stack is wider and has tiled offsets at the base. The building is two storeys high and has dentilled brick eaves on the front. The upper floor includes two casement windows, with the southern one made of cast iron. There is a door near the left side that is topped with a heavy entablature hood supported by deep scrolled brackets, and it has a moulded frame. On either side of the door are fixed windows from the 19th or 20th century. Additionally, there is a mid-19th century red brick extension on the rear left, aligned with the stack.
