Description

Old Parkbury Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 15th to 16th century, with an early to mid-19th century casing. It features a timber frame and a yellow stock brick front, topped by a plain tile hipped roof. The building is two storeys high and has five recessed sash windows, with the left and right centre windows being blank. A central flush panel door is topped by a shaped bracket hood. There is a floor band and a wide eaves soffit. At the south end of the house, there is a truncated low gable, behind which stands a large late 17th century lateral chimney stack; this section was formerly a cross wing of the earlier house. The roughcast rear elevation displays two lateral stacks, with the northern one being larger, and four flush sash windows. The house likely consists of four timber frame bays, with a gable end at the south that has been heightened on the south side.
