Description

This barn dates to the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill, some parts weatherboarded, and has a tiled roof. The barn originally comprised four bays, with a brick out-shut to the left of the farmyard elevation and a later, parallel three-bay range built to the rear. A wagon bay features opposing double doors in the third bay. The interior contains raking strut trusses and a wooden partition dividing the end bays. Two central bays have doorways leading into the loft of the adjacent range. The rear range served as a cartshed and haybarn, and possibly as a granary, and was constructed in the late 19th century. This range is brick-built with decorative ventilation patterns, partially weatherboarded, and has a tiled roof, encompassing three bays. The granary section is supported by three wooden posts at the southeastern end. The barn is included in the listing for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
