Description

The West Barn at Mackerye End Farm is a barn range dating from the 18th century and early 19th century. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding and a red brick base, topped with a plain tile roof. The 18th-century section consists of five bays and has a central gabled cart entrance on the east side, flanked by contemporary outshuts. Inside, there is a single purlin roof supported by collar braces and queen struts. The early 19th-century barn to the south has three bays and includes part of a 17th-century wall on its southern side, although it is of lesser interest.
