Description
Badgers Bend is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and painted brick infill, partly roughcast on a brick base, and features a tiled roof. There is an external brick stack at the rear, which is now enclosed by an extension. The building consists of two framed bays with large square panels, three of which extend from the sill to the wall-plate, and long straight braces in the gable end and west wall frame. The gable end also has a queen strut truss.
On the west elevation, there are seven 20th-century ground floor casements, arranged vertically in pairs and one set of three, along with a gabled dormer that contains a casement. The interior features a roof with queen strut trusses and single, trenched purlins, as well as large swept braces in the lower east wall frame. There are also 20th-century extensions to the east elevation.
