Description
Green Man Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, located on the south west side of Drop Lane in St Stephen, near Smug Oak. It is of timber frame construction, with a painted brick front, a flint plinth, and a machine tile roof. The east gable end is weatherboarded, and features an 18th or 19th century external red brick stack. The rear elevation is roughcast, with a gabled stair projection. The building is two storeys high and has three 20th-century casement windows, with segmental heads on the ground floor, and a central door. The interior is likely two or three bays wide and possibly follows a lobby-entrance plan. The wall plate is visible at the eaves.
