HERTINGFORDBURY BIRCHALL LANE TL 21 SE (North side) Cole Green 5/48 Birchall Farm House - GV II

House. Late C18, extended mid C19. Red brick. Tiled roofs. Originally 4 bays with a gabled block added to front to form a T. 2 storeys and attic. Original range has 3-light small pane recessed casements with slightly cambered heads. Dentilled brick eaves. Right bay is set back slightly. C19 block projects to left of centre with similar 2 light casements, plat band, entrance in left return with a half glazed door under a hipped tiled bracketed hood, stack on right return. Roof hipped to left end. Internal stack to rear of left bay and cross axial stack on rear slope between 2 right bays. Right gable end: half glazed door, first floor sash, plat band, attic casement. To rear: catslide roof over continuous lean-to outshut with a small pane metal casement, 2 early 2 light gabled dormers. Further C19 additions to rear, a 1 storey gabled block to centre and to left a slate roofed weatherboarded outshut. Interior not inspected. Partially moated site.
