Description
Munn's Farm House is a house dating from the early 17th century, with cased and extended features from the early 18th century, and a refronting that occurred in the mid to late 19th century. The building is likely constructed with a timber frame, which is cased in red brick, and has a roughcast front. It has tiled roofs.
The original part of the house is a three-cell, two-storey range at the rear, while a four-bay, two-storey and attic front range was added to create a double-depth house. On the ground floor, there is an entrance to the left of the centre within a 20th-century gabled porch, and tall two-light casements with stone cornices supported by carved consoles. The first floor features four shallow recessed sashes and two gabled two-light dormers. A tall principal stack is located at the centre in the valley, with an extruded stack at the left end. The right gable end is whitewashed and includes a ground floor two-light casement, a first-floor nine-pane casement with segmental heads, a plat band, and a rebuilt attic with a two-light leaded casement. There is a left end lean-to outshut with a two-light small pane metal casement.
The earlier range at the rear is lower and constructed of 18th-century red brick. The central bay of this range projects slightly forward and features recessed tripartite nine-pane sashes, while the left bay has 16-pane sashes with segmental heads on the ground floor. The right bay includes a ground floor lean-to outshut and a 19th-century sash on the first floor. The left end has an added stack, and the right end has an entrance with a panelled door, segmental heads, and plat bands.
Inside, there is an ovolo moulded axial binding beam and 18th-century turned balusters on the staircase.
