Description
Hamper Mill House is a house built in the late 18th century, with extensions added in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped tile roof. The building has two storeys and a partially obscured basement. Originally, it had four bays, but it has been extended by one bay to the left. The entrance is located in the second bay from the right and consists of a panelled door with a semi-circular traceried fanlight set in an arched reveal. The windows are glazing bar sashes in shallow reveals with gauged brick flat arched heads, while the first floor has small six-pane sashes. A mutuled timber eaves cornice runs along the top. There is a cross axial stack at the original left end, and basement windows are present on the left side. The three-storey right return has 20th-century alterations, including a large canted bay window on the first floor. The left return and rear have a mix of scattered sashes and casements. At the rear right, there is a large slightly extruded stack that adjoins The Old Cottage.
