Description
The Limes is a house dating from the late 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast brick and features tiled roofs. The building has three bays and a parallel range added to the rear, standing two storeys tall with a plinth.
On the ground floor, there is a central entrance with a part glazed and panelled door, framed by an architrave and supported by a shaped bracket under a moulded flat hood. To the left of the entrance is a large tripartite sash window, while to the right is a 20-pane sash window with a slightly cambered head. The first floor contains five 10-pane sashes, all set back from the wall. The eaves are boxed, and there is a stack at the left end as well as a cross axial ridge stack located between the centre and right bays.
On the right gable end, there is a ground floor entrance leading into a conservatory, and on the first floor, there is a three-light casement window with wavy bargeboards. The lower and narrower range at the rear also features similar bargeboards and includes a 20th-century slate-roofed one-storey outshut. The rear elevation consists of four bays, with recessed three-light casements, a ground floor entrance, and a small canted bay window.
