Description
Nos. 88, 90, and 92 High Street is a house that has been extended to form three dwellings. It has origins from the 17th century and was cased, rebuilt, and extended in the mid to late 18th century, with some alterations in the 20th century. The front range has a timber frame that has been cased and rebuilt in red brick, with some rendering. The building features red brick and rendered additions, with probable timber framing. It has tiled roofs and was originally designed with three cells. The structure is one storey with an attic, and there are two-storey additions of one and two bays to the rear right.
The red brick front has entrances that have been blocked to the left of centre, replaced by a 20th-century casement window to the far left. There are three recessed glazing bar sash windows, two with 16 panes and one with 12 panes, all featuring cambered heads. The roof has two small pane gabled dormers with a hipped gambrel design. A ridge stack is located to the right of centre. The left end is rendered and has an entrance to No. 92 in front of an 18th-century external stack with offsets and a rebuilt cap, along with exposed plates and purlins. The right end has a ground floor window with 16 panes and a first-floor window with 20 panes.
The rear right wing has a slightly taller ridge, and the bay nearest the front has red brick that continues as at the front. There is an inserted entrance to No. 90 and 16 pane sashes. No. 88 is a further two-bay addition, with a ground floor of red brick and a first floor of roughcast. It has an entrance with a plank door to the left of centre and two light flush frame small pane casements. There are ridge stacks at the rear gable end and between Nos. 88 and 90, with a brick rear gable end that is rendered at the back. Additionally, there is a one-bay 20th-century rendered wing to the rear left. The interior has not been inspected.
