Description
Holwellhyde Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 16th century or early 17th century, with additions from the 19th century and modern alterations. The gabled cross wing on the left side was reconstructed in the mid to late 19th century and is two storeys high, built of painted brick with a slate roof. The original central section is also two storeys, featuring tiled and rendered surfaces over a timber frame, with one casement window on each storey. Inside, this section reveals exposed timber framing in parts, along with original roof timbers and a brick chimney stack that has grouped flues. To the right, there is a one-storey extension, which is primarily made of modern brick but retains original ceiling beams.
