Description
No. 18 High Street is a house built around 1820. It is constructed of brick that has been painted, topped with a slate roof, and features a panelled plaster soffit at the eaves overhang. The front of the house is symmetrical with two windows and a blind recess above the central door. There is a projecting plinth and shallow segmental arches above all the windows. The windows are flush box sash style below and recessed above, each with 8 small panes arranged in an 8/8 configuration. The entrance boasts a six-panel moulded door with a blank panel above, situated beneath an entablature of a panelled pilastered doorcase. This doorcase has a frieze that breaks forward over the pilasters and is topped with a moulded flat hood. The house has a gable chimney on the south side and a small external gable chimney on the north side.
