Description
No. 21 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shopfront, dating from the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber frame that is roughcast with smooth margins around the windows and a low plinth. The building has a steep old red tile roof and is a low two-storey structure with three windows across the front. The shopfront is located on the left, with a door and a window to the right. The upper floor has three-light flush sliding casement windows positioned high under the eaves. There is a six-panel door set in a moulded doorcase with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The shopfront includes a 19th-century half-glazed panelled door with a flat hood, and a taller divided 19th-century shop window that has pilasters, a stall riser, and a fascia. Additionally, a dripboard supported by brackets runs across the south gable at eaves level, with a small sash window located above towards the rear.
