Description

This is an early 17th-century house, later altered in the 18th and 19th centuries, and now used as a shop and residence. It is timber-framed and has a roughcast exterior with a weatherboarded front gable above the shop. A painted brick plinth runs along the base, and the roof is covered with old red tiles. The house is composed of a main hall, a higher two-story crosswing to the south, and a one-and-a-half-story rear wing, which has lean-to additions on its south side.

The two-story east-facing street front is divided into two sections. The left-hand part, which houses the shop, has two flush box sash windows on the first floor, each with 3/3 panes and moulded surrounds. The ground floor has a six-panel flush door within a moulded doorcase, alongside a 19th-century shop window set within a similar flush-moulded frame. The right-hand part of the front is lower, featuring one window to each floor and a door on the left. This section also contains flush box sash windows with 8/8 panes. A flush four-panel door is set within a plain doorcase, topped with a small hood supported by brackets.
