Description
Nos 34 and 36 High Street is a house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and was extended at the back in the 18th century. The building has a timber frame that is plastered above a low stucco plinth, and it features steep old red tile roofs that run parallel to the street. The front block has one and a half storeys and is extended by a parallel rear range. The entire structure is divided into a pair of cottages, each with a central chimney.
On the street front, the openings are positioned near the outer corners. There is a six-panel fielded door with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets, and next to it, towards the center, is a sliding two-light Yorkshire casement window under a small hood. Each half of the building has a flat-topped two-light casement dormer window on the eaves.
