Description
This is an 18th-century house that was refaced in the early 19th century. The front of the house is timber-framed and plastered, built on a stucco plinth. The left side of the house is weatherboarded. The roof has a steeper pitch at the rear, featuring old red tiles, and a lower front slope covered in slate.
The building is two storeys high with a three-window front facing east. A short recessed section is on the right, featuring a window above a carriageway entrance and with slightly lower eaves. There's also a two-storey rear wing.
The front of the house is symmetrical and features flush box sash windows with moulded architraves. These windows are surrounded by corner blocks with decorative carvings (paterae) and projecting cornices set on fluted consoles. The windows have small panes, margin lights, and pointed detailing in the top sashes. A box cornice sits above the roof, forming a small parapet.
The main entrance is a moulded six-panel door, set five steps up, with panelled surrounds and soffit. It is framed by a fluted pilastered doorcase, a full entablature, a panelled frieze, and a moulded hood supported by cross-reeded brackets. A similar hood is above the carriageway entrance.
