Description
No. 52 High Street is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with early 19th-century windows and a rear extension. The building features a timber frame that is roughcast on a high stepped stucco plinth. It has a steeply pitched old red tile roof that is hipped with a gablet at the south end. The house is two storeys tall and has three windows along its long side, which is jettied. It has a three-unit, central-chimney, lobby-entry plan, with a small external gable chimney at the north end. Each floor includes three flush box sash windows with eight-over-eight panes. To the left of the northern window, there is a glazed and panelled door that is recessed up five steps within a reeded doorcase that has plastered reveals, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice.
